The course was not what I thought it would be, I was hoping for more in depth look into more advanced protection systems (transformer diff distance protection etc.) but was only read information from a PowerPoint for a few hours and gave an exam on it. The rest of the week we were given a very repetitive task and a guide to follow. There where countless mistakes on the test schedule given and when we told the lecturer about these issues he didn’t seem too bothered and where told to just continue as it says.
Alan was very knowledgeable and the course was really well laid out, would be nice to learn more about distance protection and how to change the logic to program the relays but overall was a great course.
Good experience in a lab environment testing various relays for commissioning.

Chris was very knowledgeable and helpful. Course content could do with some more variation rather then just over current / earth fault testing. Some G99, directional, distance, differential protection would greatly benefit this course especially as its listed as an advance course. Practical paper could do with a good review as some times are incorrect.
Great to get "hands on" and set up the equipment on the bench . Also helps to understand what numbers you expect to get in the teal world. This also enables you spot obvious setting mistakes.
Alan had answers to all of my questions and the content of the course was highly informative. I learnt a lot and I'm glad to have had a chance to get hands-on experience with all the lab equipment.
Interesting course, knowledgeable lecturer. We worked on 4 different Relays using 3 test set which is great but the exercices were exactly the same so we have done 4 times the same thing. But once again it was a good course
