AI summary of reviews

Attendees particularly value the practical use of the ALGEE framework, scenarios and discussions, which make difficult mental-health topics approachable and give them confidence to recognise distress and start sensitive conversations with young people. They describe knowledgeable, empathetic trainers who create a relaxed, non-judgemental space, alongside a well-structured blend of self-study, webinars and breakout activities. The handbook and resources support application at work, though some prefer face-to-face delivery.

loved the booklet that i could read in my own time and the physical resources given to me as part of the course. the course was really interactive and contained relevant, local knowledge. bec and lynne were really engaging and all participants had cameras on and spoke throughout the sessions which made the training interesting and feel quick. learnt so much and really enjoyed the two days.

I found the course very interesting and useful. The instructors were fantastic, knowledgeable and approachable. They made me feel if I had any issues or concerns, or even felt uncomfortable with the harder aspects of the course, that I could talk to them in confidence and at ease. Thank you both!

Very informative course. I learned so much and feel more confident to appropriately support young people with mental heath issues. There were technical issues with some aspects eg the videos and dragging labels into boxes which impacted on ability to complete some answers but overall very impressed.

It was fantastic to be able to do this course through the medium of Welsh under the professional and sensitive guidance of Dan and Davina. I scored the course 4 overall as I feel the course materials are a little 'dated' in their appearance, and perhaps some of the scenarios could be relevant to wider contexts where people work with young people, e.g. HE. Having all materials in Welsh would also be beneficial.

The course was very insightful and I love how we've been provided with the ALGEE model to help us support anyone in crisis and in need of MHFA.

Both instructors were exceptional and supported us through the content of the material in a sensitive and professional manner. As I chose to undertake the training in Welsh, it would have been beneficial to have all content in Welsh beforehand.

A well run course. The online nature of the delivery was not detrimental to discussion and challenge. Contributions from participants and Paul / Sarah-Jane's approach ensured that we all had an opportunity to develop our ideas and look to enhance the provision of MHFA at St David's College. Course materials and the book were excellent. Many thanks both.
