I really enjoyed my CeMAP training. I went on the classroom course, as I am new to the industry and it was great. They gave me lots of useful tips for my exams, which I passed first time.

An excellent course. The tutor enabled me to understand the subject and information provided to a high level which was much more than I expected from this course. I would highly recommend this course and Simply Academy, to anyone wishing to study their CeMAP qualification. Will be looking to book my CeMAP 2&3 very soon!

The trainer spent the week as a majority just reading the book out loud. There were a couple demonstrations on a white board but more could have been done. There was a screen behind him that was completely unused, a powerpoint or something would have really aided learning. We only spent one day covering unit 2 which was not sufficient. He did not show us any content from the book, instead we spent the entire day only going through 100 questions from mock tests. We were told that a third of these 100 questions could come up on the real exam. All of us students spoke of our dissatisfaction as this as what about the other two thirds? We hadn't touched any course material for unit 2. We were all upset about unit 2 and felt it hadn't been taught to us well at all.
Response : Hi Jennifer, I am sorry to hear that you are not fully satisfied with the course you attended, and thank you for providing valuable feedback. Our records show you have attended a course hosted by one of our most experienced tutors whom since 1999 has helped over 2000 students achieve CeMAP status. Although you are correct that course material is used extensively regrettably you have failed to mention the many real life and examination scenarios this tutor provides to help candidates with understanding the syllabus. Our aim is to always provide our students with the best possible learning experience, including tuition, course materials, and study environment. I would like to point out that you are still within the Terms & Conditions timeframe to reattend the course free of charge under our Pass Assurance Scheme, so if you would like to arrange this, please do contact our support team who will be only too happy to assist.

Great course, fantastic tutor who was very knowledgeable. The only downside to the whole course was the number of students on the course. A ratio of 1 to 16 is not acceptable considering how much money we all paid.

Paul was fantastic and really helped me understand the material. Bit difficult with access in the mornings with the reception staff not allowing the candidates to go up to the class on time on several occasions.

I didn't like the fact that we covered Unit 2 in a day. The fact that its referred to as 'common sense' is quite deflating. It may be common sense if you are a mortgage broker - but not someone who is new to the industry.

Paul was very good and knowledgeable, the only issue I have with the teaching is that we didn't spend enough time on Unit 2. We only started on Friday and we also finished early, we didn't even look at the course material in the book, we just looked at 100 most recent live questions. I sat the exam the next day and failed unit 2! I feel like if we had spent more time on that unit I would've had a better chance at passing. The venue was okay but apart from the 1st day, every morning I was told to wait in the reception for someone to come and collect me. Even though you can come and go as you please at lunch time. On Tuesday I arrived at 9.50 and didn't get collected and taken up until 10.25m...And the whole class had started at 10am. So i ended up missing out on some of the teaching which I paid a lot of money for. The classroom was quite small and felt like we were squashed in. There were too many of us, I had 2 more people sat at my desk with me when it was a 2 person desk! After hearing feedback from colleagues about the size of their class I was very disappointed. It made it harder to learn with so many people asking questions and not getting the time to review as we had to move on. I overheard Paul trying to sort out his next course which had 18 delegates booked when there was only space for 16. Looking at the size of the class and the attitude of staff when booking it seems clear that it's more about the money than teaching people to pass the exam which is very disappointing!

This course is suited as if you had no prior knowledge in the subject area. Now based on my personal experience there was a few people in the group who had no background in financial services or any "mortgage" knowledge, these people seemed to struggle the most as they just didn't any knowledge. So maybe the only thing I could say to improve your workshop is when people book onto the course just check that they have received the book from LIBF and have given it a brief read. From my point of view, I have had 8-9 months already in the mortgage business, seeing how the process works. However, this course taught me things that I never knew and clarified things that I was unsure about. Brendan was a fantastic teacher and I believe he dealt with every situation greatly.
