As a beginner therapist, attending this training was enriching more on the basis of practical cases and role plays that were described than just theories. The tutor was engaging, and made the sessions interactive. Her voice modulation was apt as per the situations. It was a good start to basic safety plan for such sensitive topics especially in India.

Considering this was via Zoom it was a very well structured course and has been adapted well too distant learning. I felt that Steve had a good idea of the duty of care he held due to the subject matter.

It is clearly impossible to cover every scenario in an entry level course, but there are a couple of areas which I would have liked to have seen explored, or explored more deeply. First, the role of social media in suicide incidence. Second, differences between genuine distress and so-called attention seeking behaviour, and how to deal with both. As a line manager of multiple young people, this is highly relevant.
