Emergency First Aid at Work for Sports

Description

The 1 day Emergency First Aid for Sports covers the recommended course content as set by the HSE for Emergency First Aid at Work courses. We also tailor the content and training scenarios to your sport to ensure the training is relevant for your environment. Delegates will be given the confidence to act in the event of an emergency on the sports pitch.

This course is ideal for all those working within a variety of sports environments, including sports instructors, personal trainers, PE teachers, coaches, and many more.

What you will learn

The course covers:

Acting, Safely, Promptly in an emergency
Basic Life Support - Recovery Position & CPR, treating an unconscious casualty (including seizures)
Control of severe bleeding and wounds Minor injuries
Common medical emergencies
First Aid kits & accident reporting
The treatment of Anaphylactic shock
Preventing cross infection
Minor injuries (including small cuts, grazes and bruises, minor burns and scalds, small splinters)
Use of the Automatic External Defibrillator
With the addition of sports-related incidents- tailoring the course to suit your needs;

Sports injury Assessment (SALTAPS)
Asthma
Cardiac-related emergencies
Diabetes
Hyperventilating and exercise including breathing
