The NPORS Cartridge Tools training course equips participants with the essential knowledge and hands-on skills required for the safe, efficient, and legally compliant use of powder-actuated cartridge tools in construction and maintenance environments.

What you will learn

  • Understand industry-related hazards and operator responsibilities.
  • Interpret and follow the manufacturer’s handbook for specific cartridge tools. 
  • Identify and operate major machine components and key control.
  • Conduct pre-operational checks and maintenance according to manufacturer and legislative requirements.
  • Select the correct tool, fasteners, and cartridges for specific tasks.
  • Employ appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and implement risk assessment practices.
  • Apply environmental considerations and safe storage/transport of tools.
  • Operate cartridge tools safely, efficiently, and in compliance with relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Practical Training Hands-on practice is an integral part of the training, allowing participants to: Inspect and identify defective cartridges.
  • Load, fit, and fire cartridges under supervisory guidance.
  • Conduct shutdown and end-of-shift procedures to ensure safety.
  • Maintain and store tools safely post-operation
