About this course
The CABWI Confined Space Low Risk course prepares participants to safely enter, work, and exit low-risk confined spaces by combining theoretical knowledge with practical training on risk assessments, PPE usage, and emergency procedures.
What you will learn
In this course, you will learn how to:
- define and classify confined spaces and understand their specific hazards.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and implement safe systems of work.
- Apply marking, fencing, permit-to-work procedures, and access control measures effectively.
- Use and maintain specialist PPE, including helmets, harnesses, gas detectors, hoists, and an introduction to working with breathing apparatus.
- Operate gas and atmosphere monitoring equipment, recognizing unsafe conditions and responding appropriately.
- Prepare and implement emergency response procedures and practice safe entry and exit techniques, including self-rescue.
