About this course

The CABWI Confined Space High Risk course equips learners with the necessary knowledge and practical skills to safely enter, work in, and exit high-risk confined spaces while managing hazards and responding to emergencies.

What you will learn

Participants will gain practical and theoretical knowledge to:

  • Define confined spaces and identify their key characteristics.
  • Recognize and assess potential hazards, including atmospheric dangers like toxic gases or oxygen depletion.
  • Carry out comprehensive risk assessments and implement safe systems of work Understand regulatory responsibilities and permit-to-work systems Learn safe entry, exit, and work practices within confined spaces.
  • Prepare and use respiratory protective equipment (RPE) properly Inspect and correctly use tripods, winches, ropes, fall arrest systems, and other relevant equipment.
  • Apply emergency procedures and rescue techniques, including the use of breathing apparatus and escape systems 2 Establish effective communication and teamwork while coordinating confined space operations.
