The CABWI Cat & Genny course provides essential training for operatives and supervisors to safely locate and avoid underground utilities using cable avoidance tools (CAT) and signal generators (Genny), combining practical and theoretical knowledge aligned with health and safety regulations
What you will learn

- Interpret utility plans and identify service locations on-site.
- Recognise and survey visual indications of underground services.
- Safely use cable location equipment, including CAT and Genny.
- Identify services not traceable with conventional tools.
- Conduct accurate site surveys and sketch underground utilities.
- Understand health and safety legislation and codes of practice.
- Apply safe digging techniques and permit-to-work systems
- Identify hazards and risks associated with underground utilities
