About this course
The C&G Confined Space Low Risk course is a one-day, nationally recognised training program that equips delegates to work safely in low-risk confined spaces across water and non-water industry sectors
What you will learn
Delegates will be trained to:
- Prepare for safe work in low-risk confined spaces, including equipment usage, authorisation, communication protocols, establishing safety zones, and monitoring.
- Enter and exit confined spaces safely, using appropriate monitoring and access equipment, carrying out safety inspections, and addressing unsafe activities.
- Use equipment and tools safely, performing pre- and post-use checks.
- Follow safe working procedures, including communication methods, lone working protocols, personal protective equipment (PPE), vigilance, and documentation/reporting.
- Handle emergencies effectively, including emergency exit procedures and reporting incidents.
- Understand the principles of confined space work, covering health, safety, and environmental legislation, workplace exposure limits, types of spaces, common emergencies, and job roles/responsibilities.
- Comprehend protocols for working in low-risk confined spaces, including classifications, procedures, methods for risk reduction, equipment checks, and communication and emergency reporting systems.
