- Legislation & Guidance: HSE GS6 (4th Edition) and ENATS 43-8.
- Identifying Hazards: Types of overhead lines, voltages, associated risks, and clearances.
- Risk Assessment & Site Planning: Evaluating site-specific hazards and implementing control measures.
- Safe Systems of Work (SSOW): Designing and applying work procedures near overhead lines.
- Working Clearances: Minimum safe distances and approach boundaries.
- Use of Safety Equipment: GS6 goalposts, cable markers, barriers, cones, signage, and height measurement tools.
- Emergency Procedures: Actions in the event of accidental contact or incident.
- Engagement with Network Operators: Coordination with DNOs, Transmission Companies, or IDNOs during planning or emergencies.
