The ALLMI Lorry Loader Course provides accredited training to ensure safe, competent operation of lorry-mounted cranes (HIABs) through a combination of practical and theoretical instruction.
What you will learn
- Legislation and operator responsibilities
- Introduction to lorry loaders and attachments (e.g., hooks, brick grabs, clamshells)
- Pre-operational checks and operator maintenance
- Safe deployment of stabiliser legs and setting up the machine for tasks Loading, unloading, and stowing procedures
- Use of controls and lifting plans
- Safety principles including exclusion zones and managing swing and load stability
