The Abrasive Wheels Train the Trainer course equips participants to instruct staff safely and effectively on the use of abrasive wheels, combining regulatory knowledge, practical skills, and teaching methods.
Course Overview:
This course is designed for individuals who want to deliver in-house training on the safe selection, use, and maintenance of abrasive wheels. It covers the anatomy, characteristics, and risks of abrasive wheels, as well as the legal requirements under PUWER 1998 and HASWA 1974. Participants gain the knowledge and skills to conduct practical demonstrations, competency assessments, and effective in-person instruction.
What you will learn
- Understand the types and manufacturing processes of abrasive wheels and their operational limits.
- Identify machine parts, guards, rests, and accessories, and conduct appropriate inspection and maintenance.
- Perform safe wheel mounting, dressing, balancing, and testing. Apply health and safety regulations and personal protective equipment (PPE) guidance.
