EUSR Impressed Voltage Awareness

Description

The EUSR Impressed Voltage (IV) Awareness course provides essential training for those working on or near high-voltage infrastructure where impressed voltage hazards may exist. Designed to meet industry requirements, the course helps delegates recognise IV risks, understand safe systems of work, and apply appropriate control measures when working around substations, overhead lines, and cable networks.

Suitable for contractors, operatives, engineers, and supervisors, successful completion leads to an EUSR Impressed Voltage Awareness certificate and card, valid for five years.

What you will learn

The course covers:

Impressed voltage principles, hazards, and risk awareness
Common sources of impressed voltage on high-voltage sites
Safe systems of work, permits, and site procedures
Working safely around substations, overhead lines, and cable networks
Hazard identification, reporting, and risk reduction
National Grid working practices and industry requirements

Delegates will gain the knowledge needed to recognise impressed voltage hazards and apply safe working practices to reduce electrical risk.
