Description
This course meets the requirements of OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 (q)(6)(iii) & (e)(3). This course is required for employees responsible for stopping a hazardous substance release or for hazardous waste general site workers. Many people call this class the 40-hour HAZWOPER course.
What you will learn
Hazard recognition and control, medical surveillance, air monitoring, personal protective equipment (PPE) selection and use, decontamination techniques, and drum handling. Students will receive: Hazardous Materials Compliance pocketbook, the North American Emergency Response guidebook, OSHA Guidance Manual for Hazardous Waste Site Activities, and National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) pocket guide. This course requires out-of-class study of OSHA Guidance Manual for Hazardous Waste Site Activities.
