Description
This course covers the importance of decontamination in a healthcare setting, with regard to medical instruments and endoscopes. The course covers the three main stages of decontamination in a Sterile Service Department- washing, disinfection and sterilisation along with the inspection, assembly and packing process in the ‘clean room’. The course also covers the machines that are used in these processes, such as the instrument washer-disinfectors, and provides information on how they function, the different kinds and uses, and why they are necessary.
