I have a course useful and interesting an opportunity to think about how bereavement by suicide effects different people. I do think that the relationship Pete's Dragon staff have with people affected by suicide is very different from that of DPT staff. I regularly investigate suicide at face anger hostility and blame as I am the face of the statutory sector and we are easily blamed (I accept this as part of my role). I think the course could be improved by recognising the different reality that statutory sector staff are likely to experience when supporting people affected by suicide as compared to the voluntary sector.
