New course parameters, so trainer learning as we went. Very engaging trainer, enjoyable experience.

I understand that the training has to be slightly generic however some of the content is very basic and is repetitive of the online content that we have all had to complete prior to attending this session. Tips on moving and handling were very useful and informative.

The deteriorating patient A-E and sepsis was poor. The A-E did not teach much, the slides were vague and generalised. SIR is an outdated term we don not use any more in practice. Sepsis is NOT blood poisoning: blood poisoning can cause sepsis. This is extremely important and frustrating as my recent substansive role was Acutely Ill Patient Education and patient safety where I taught sepsis courses for the trust. It is imperative that information delivered is correct and up to date. Also I feel that in BLS it should be clarified that the non shockable rhythms do require more intervention than just CPR.

Senior clinical lead made the session enjoyable! Although the slides weren’t alway accurate or relevant to BLS he ensured we had the correct knowledge. Some slides were aimed at ILS and ALS and were too complex. The trainer made sense of these slides and took everyone’s thoughts on board

Inaccurate information in the PowerPoint The information is repetitive as we have already done this in the e learning. We only really needed to be doing the manual handling and cpr practical training in person. The PowerPoint content isn’t in a logical order and means we are often repeating discussions. The training should be paid and should be reduced in length. The only interesting and useful part of the training was the content not included in the programme, that the trainer taught us in spare time such as different uses for slide sheets

The course was very helpful because it helped me refresh my brain and helped me update my memory. I learnt a lot of things and I also met a lot of new people.
