Emergency First Aid at Work for Schools Reviews

It was a great course with lots of hands on experience and plenty of opportunities to learn about and practice vital life saving skills. The trainer was very knowledgeable and able to keep the full day's session really engaging with a variety of activities and lots of personal anecdotes to support the course. I was able to take useful notes and am really grateful to have had this opportunity to be trained in this way. If I'm honest I wasn't looking forward to 6 hours first aid training but I loved it and can honestly say that it is the best and most comprehensive first aid training that I've had whilst working at the school over the past 18 years! I also appreciate the fact that a full working day was allocated to the process and we weren't required to stay late into the evening to complete the course. Thank you.

Brendan made the course come alive, I feel more confident after his course than I have ever felt after any courses I have been on. He was very engaging not once did I think this is dull. He was very hands on so we got to practise everything. He was the best trainer I have had in a long time. Thoroughly enjoyed this course.

Pam was really engaging, she brought up a lot of relevant examples that could happen to us and examples we should be thinking about. She knew when we had too much information and gave us breaks accordingly. She was flexible within the timings and made the session very informative but also entertaining as well.

Brendan was excellent. Made what could have been a long and boring day, into a fun and dynamic learning experience.

Ian was brilliant. A great instructor, easy to understand, willing to answer and discuss any questions we had… he was also really cheerful and humorous, which was much appreciated. It’s a long day of training, so a fun but informative instructor is always appreciated. Ian led the course at a really good pace. Thanks, Ian!

Phil was a very pleasant and non-threatening presenter. We covered the content but the delivery was disjointed and far too slow. We felt that the course could have been completed in less time - easily in 2-3 hours. Much more information needed to be provided to make use of a full day. Talking to other colleagues, our experiences varied greatly and our group wasn’t convinced they received the same level of training as them. My advice would be for Phil to observe some of the more experienced trainers to assist in his development.

A lot of the staff on the course had completed a first aid course in the past so it really was unnecessary to go through everything in so much detail. Many of us appreciated the updates but not the many, many anecdotes. This course could have been finished much quicker, which I believe happened with other groups. As teachers, we would never lecture people on a particular topic for so long. Whilst the trainer was clearly knowledgeable about what he was showing us, surely he could see that the staff were freezing in the Sports Hall and when asked by said staff, could have taken up their offer of using another, much warmer, room.

Very good presenter with excellent knowledge. Great variety of practical and theory. I feel my knowledge has definitely improved.
