What you will learn
Session 1 - Understanding ‘You’ Leading Groups
Establish what effective facilitation looks like
Create individual & group values/expectations to enhance leadership abilities
Apply structure to ensure that sessions run effectively
Link behaviour to the presence of, or lack of values and principles
Recognise that peoples’ performance correlates to how the situation occurs to them
Develop a structure for group communication using the 3 Laws of Performance
Complete a PRISM Personal Behavioural profile for understanding individuals behaviours
Use PRISM to assess own behaviour and the impact of this on leadership style
Create a workable individual action plan for enhancing facilitation skills
Session 2 - Managing Conflict & Group Dynamics
Review interim activities and individual sharing
Recognise the need for, and deal with difficult conversations
Explore the Thomas & Kilman (TKI) Conflict Tool
Demonstrate flexibility and objectivity in conflict scenarios
Use all five of the Thomas and Kilmann’s styles
Complete and analyse individual TKI questionnaire results
Understand how to use the ‘3 Laws of performance’ for conflict resolution
Create a workable individual action plan based on the TKI results
Session 3 - Developing Style Flexibility
Review interim activities and individual sharing
Understand the impact of the wrong style at the wrong time and visa versa
Practice varying levels of directive and supportive behaviours
Work on developing own least preferred leadership styles (using PRISM results)
Practice understanding an individuals development level in a given area
Become effective in listening and questioning skills
Apply style flexibility to real working examples through interim activity
