Description
The scope of this role is to screen applications, deliver the Suicide First Aid Associate Tutor Training Development Programme (ATTDP) to potential Associate Tutors. This will include all aspects of the process from screening applicants to assessing their suitability to deliver Suicide First Aid through Understanding Suicide Interventions (SFAUSI) and related SFA training products. The role will include:
• Receiving application forms from potential SFA Associate Tutors
• Screen the applications using a decision matrix
• Passing the outcomes of the applications to the appropriate person within MHFAE & NCSPET
• Passing relevant details onto NCSPET / MHFAE prior to the cohort commencing, allowing for the delegate to be registered with
City&Guilds and processed (NCSPET need delegate application information, including date of birth)
• To deliver the four day (ATTDP) either face to face or virtually depending on what is required
• To support the potential Associate Tutor to set up a Day 5 delivery
• To observe either the day 5 virtually or review a filmed delivery sent by the tutor and give the tutor feedback
• To record observations of the delivery of day 5 and score on the ‘observations form’, send over to the new tutor for comment
• To send out or support MHFAE to send out joining instructions that will include a reflective journal and the City&Guilds Unit 407
qualification assignment.
• To collate or support MHFAE to collate the Associate Tutor completed reflective journal, unit 407 qualification assignment, work
products and observations form.
• To either send or support MHFAE to send the final paperwork as above to NCSPET.
What you will learn
This is a four-day virtual training and development course delivered over two weeks. The course is comprised of the following elements:
• There will be a short pre-course assignment on the topic of values and attitudes relating to suicide
• Days one and two of the course are delivered on Monday and Tuesday of week one
• Individual and group learning and assignments to be completed during the remainder of week one.
• Days three and four of the course are delivered on Monday and Tuesday of week two.
