Sleep for Enhanced Resilience and Performance Digital Training Course

Description

As humans, we have a number of fundamental biological drives. We are driven to eat , drink, procreate and sleep.

Whilst the reason behind the first three drives is well understood, thanks to science, even though sleep consumes significantly more of our lives than the others combined (about one third - that’s about 25 years for the average human), most of us understand very little about this state that we spend so much of our time in.

It is estimated that more than one third of people fail to have the recommended 7 – 9 hours sleep each night, and whilst that probably isn’t a huge surprise to anyone, what might be surprising is to learn the impact that this lack of sleep is having on our wellbeing (and by that, I mean both our physical and mental health) and therefore our personal resilience and performance, which affects our ability to do and achieve the things we want in our lives, including our work.

This detailed exploration into the topic of sleep, increases appreciation of the role sleep plays in health and wellbeing.

Covering why we sleep, what governs sleep, the sleep cycle, and the impact of sleep deprivation on the brain and body, from many health perspectives, this course increases appreciation of the benefits of prioritising good quality and duration of sleep on both our physical health and our mental health.

With guidance on simple things we can do ourselves to proactively minimise the possibility of sleep deprivation on our health, lives and work, it also provides practical ways to improve sleep in order ro enhance our resilience and performance.

Everyone who completes the course gets a workbook, which details all learning content and highlights key points to remember and actions to take so that they can refresh their knowledge and refer back at any time, enabling them to implement their new knowledge and skills immediately.

They also receive a certificate to say that they have attended the Sleep Awareness Digital course.
