The Level 1 PDE Awareness of Equality and Diversity unit is a course that teaches learners about equality and diversity, and how to operate appropriately in a diverse workforce. Learners will understand the significance of treating everyone fairly and respectfully, regardless of their background. The course focuses on the nine protected characteristics and emphasises that discrimination has no place in organisations.
What you will learn
This course will give an introduction to the concepts of equality and diversity, and the barriers that can arise as well as an overview of protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010. The course also explores different types of discrimination adn how people may experience unacceptable conduct in the workplace, such as stereotyping, prejudice, bullying, harassment, and victimization. Learners will also examine what to do if an individual wishes to report a concern about bullying, harassment, or discrimination
