The Level 1 award in preparing to work in adult social care aims to introduce you to adult social care and develop your confidence and aspirations to begin a career working in the Adult Care Sector. You will be provided with an introduction to the skills, qualities, and knowledge that are required for employment.

To complete the programme, you will need to be:

  • Over the age of 19
  • Unemployed

What you will learn

This course is packed with exciting and educational content.

Over the course of the week, you will cover:

  • The values and principles of adult social care
  • Communication skills and record-keeping
  • Responsibilities of adult care worker
  • Skills and attitude to work in care

You will be assessed through your input during the sessions as you grow confidence showing the skills and knowledge you have learnt. The course will take place in person at one of our Skills Hubs.
