Description
The FREE Level 2 Certificate in Special Education Needs and Disability is an introductory yet important qualification for anyone living or working with someone who has SEND needs or a disability. It is designed to introduce learners to SEND and disabilities, helping them build confidence and aspire to start a career in this sector.
This course provides an introduction to the essential skills, qualities, and knowledge needed for employment in the field.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the course, candidates must:
- Be aged 19 or over
- Have lived in the UK for the past 3 years
- Have the right to live and work in the UK

What will the course include?
The programme is designed to be interactive and different to traditional methods of teaching.
There’s no staring at a PowerPoint presentation, instead we will focus on the needs of the individual learners through collaborative teaching methods.
Topics include:
- Introduction to Special Needs and Disability
- Understand Equality and Diversity in the context of SEND
- Principles of promoting person centred approach for individuals with SEND
- Understanding SEND and learning
- Living with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
The course is run in-person with engaging tutor led sessions in a classroom setting.
