Ligature Awareness and Support Training

Description

The course is delivered in accordance with the programme below and can be delivered as 1 distinct course over a 4 hour period (including a short break to ensure delegate wellbeing is being adhered to) or 2 half-day sessions on the same day:

Course outline – Ligature Release (4 hrs including breaks)
0900 – 1045 Part 1
•Introduction to the training 
•Understanding Asphyxiation and Strangulation
•Identifying Ligatures
•Signs and symptoms of ligature injuries 
•Ligature (Anchor) Points
1045 – 1100 BREAK – Due to content of the course wellbeing breaks are advised.
1100 – 1215 Part 2 
•Assessment of Risk
•Ligature situation – Suspended and Non-suspended
•Safe removal of ligature – Suspended and Non-suspended
•First Aid (Practical assessment for First aid and Ligature release situations)
•Preservation of Evidence
