Description
This multi-disciplined introduction course is suitable for ReAct+ students only who have never welded before, or has had the equivalent of just a few days work experience. Its designed as an introduction to the various types of welding as a precursor to accreditation. You will be asked to select one of the following techniques.
MMA
Manual Metal Arc. One of the most widely used welding processes. It involves striking an arc between a covered metal electrode and a workpiece.
MIG
Metal Inert Gas. Is an arc welding process that uses a continuous solid wire electrode heated and fed into the weld pool from a welding gun.

What you will learn
Provides an academic understanding of MMA, MIG, and TIG welding processes and how they work
Provides an introduction to basic welding techniques as a precursor to accreditation
Produce single and multi-run fillet welds in the MIG or MMA process and can adjust the settings on the machine in full
Understand the basics of weld defects and has received information on how to prevent them
Received an introduction into welding applications and industry sectors
To be able to set key welding parameters
To gain British Standard certification in your chosen discipline
