This session will help Team Leaders and Line Managers to feel more confident to talk to their teams about mental health and menopause issues in a compassionate way, to support the success and wellbeing of the individual, team and wider business.
Managers play a vital role in determining the health, well-being and engagement of their team. They also play an essential part in managing people and HR issues which can affect employee relationships.
Educating and informing Managers about mental health and menopause will help them create a positive culture and help them respond positively with kindness, compassion and respect.
The content of the session will include:
- Defining mental health
- Know your facts about menopause, don’t make assumptions
- Perceptions of mental health and menopause difficulties
- Why people might not want to talk about their symptoms
- Barriers to accessing support – stigma and stereotypes
- Asking for help
- Normalising conversations about menopause and mental health
- Feeling more confident to have the conversation one-to-one
- Sign-posting people to support
- Developing policy and culture to support the well-being of your workforce
