Lean Training – Workshop from Hillcrest Lean Solutions

Description

Popularized by the Toyota Production System in the 1950’s, LEAN manufacturing techniques are used across all types of manufacturing and transactional processes today, from automotive, computers, pharma, medical device, software development and financial services. This course provides you with an introduction to the world of LEAN, you will be taken through the history of LEAN and will be introduced to the knowledge areas needed to identify and eliminate waste (non value adding steps in a process). Using a simulated environment, you will take part in a manufacturing process and make iterative improvements in a team situation. You will learn how LEAN tools and techniques can improve a process. On completion, you will be familiar with LEAN terminology and have the tools and techniques required to apply LEAN thinking to your day to day activity.

This practical workshop is typically a 6-8 hour session (generally with a team of 12, smallest class size would be 5) that includes several interactive simulations and exercises to demonstrate LEAN in a practical environment. An interactive quiz is used to check learners understanding at the end of the session.

It is especially suitable for people new to LEAN or those who need to refresh their knowledge and individuals who need to strengthen their LEAN skills. These techniques can be applied to any business process, both physical and transactional. It is also suitable for students at both 2nd and 3rd level who have an interest in STEM and/or process environments.
